I gulped my first authentic taste of the island after three years, my Jamaican drought was finally over, as it’s bubbles played with my tongue and saturated my throat. Life was good.
As a teenager I had left the comforts of Caribbean living which I had missed so much, hardships there had taught and prepared me for so many things in life, alongside fond memories growing up. I was home now and I intended to have a blast.
All relationships in our lives should have two-way faith, our differences should only make us individual and be one of the added bonuses that keeps those bonds alive. We have to learn to live our lives without fearing what others think and just be to the best of our ability.
Mothers cry out at the sight of bloodshed
How can we hibernate as our children lay dead?
“Fools take a knife and stab people in the back the wise take a knife cut the cord and free themselves from the fools ” ~ Unknown
“As I promise your heart to hold
I give you this ring upon your finger
Promise to still love me when we grow old
And by my side forever linger”
I am a supporter, I am the companion
Moulded by God from the rib of Adam
I wish you knew
That the scars they bore were not invisible
“Wrong doers listen to gossip
Liars pay close attention to slander”
Whispering behind the shade
Striking harsh blows against my back
My heart cries out with each and every attack
Emotions unconcealed yet so primeval
Together building memories to hold sentimental
Black crows Peck away at the seams of my heart
Crimson ribbons flying through the air getting lost in the ark
